Friday Sucked.

I woke up Friday morning thinking it was going to be a great day.. it was Friday after all. I had a very long week and I was just so happy that it was finally almost over. I say almost because I still had to go to two jobs before the day was over. My day started at my administrative assistant job. I got there late because I had a really slow morning. Then my manager informed me that I had made a mistake when I was doing the deposit at some point a few weeks ago. I have know idea how it happened and I'm just really glad someone double checked because I don't know what would have happened if it wouldn't have been found. Also, on Wednesday a man called to ask if his package had been delivered. My manager searched and searched for it but couldn't find it and she called the postal company and tried to find out when and to whom they delivered it to but there were no answers. The whole time this was happening I had a sinking feeling that maybe I had signed for it but misplaced it. On Friday my boss asked me to go through a pile and finish entering all of these applications into the computer. Of course at the bottom of this pile was the package that was delivered to me and that I lost. I felt like complete crap.. to be continued...

One long week...

After recovering from all the wedding festivities I started working two jobs. I thought it would be awesome because I would be making twice as much money! Its always great to double your salary! Since it was "fall break" as school I was able to start my new job with two full days of work. Those first two days were great! I did a lot of work but it was a nice change. I stayed busy but by the end of the day I wasn't totally exhausted. Everyday I come home and my boyfriend asks me to workout with him. Before this job I would come home and just laugh when he asked, but after these two days I might think about it. On Wednesday of that week I started working both jobs. I also started feeling sick around then too. I worked a few hours and my first job and then came home for a very short lunch and hurried off to my second job. Of course I was late... like always. There I am on my feet the whole shift. About half way through I was very tired. I finished my shift and headed home for a long week. The next day was the same, but opposite. All week I continued like this until on Friday was finally over. My parents came to visit and I worked again on Saturday. We went to the football and let early because we lost. Finally, on Sunday morning we went shopping for a baby shower gift. While in Target I began to feel ill. Like I mentioned before i had been feeling sick for awhile but at this point it was worse. Later while we were in another store I started feeling this awful pain in my stomach about every 20 minutes. My parents left and I laid around in bed all day. The next morning I hoped it was gone but it wasn't. I attempted to go to work but with pain every 20 minutes it was really hard to focus so I left work. I made an appointment at the school doctor and after a LONG trip to get there I was informed that I had a stomach virus. Boo. I took the rest of the day off from work and 2 days off from my first job. Hopefully by Friday these easy days will have solved my stomach problems.

The Wedding and Work

Well my friends wedding was this weekend and it was awesome. The stupid spray tan washed off just enough to make me look like I didn't even get one. My spray tan guru saw me and said, "Oh so you decided not to get the tan after all..." Yeah, I felt like an idiot. Other than the stupid spray tan disaster the wedding went off (almost) without a hitch. It was a small wedding which I liked because there weren't like 30,000 people. I saw some people I haven't seen in years, and that I hoped I would never see again. It was an all day affair, but I was so glad to be there.

Today was my first day at my new job. I really enjoyed getting to meet all the people and to be doing work that wasn't exhausting. I also think I got my boyfriend a job today too! I felt really productive. For the first time ever I was given my own desk and a personal email! I am really excited because if one of the programs passes during election season I get a FULL-TIME JOB!!! I am soooo excited! I really hope everything works out!

TRS Recovery Services

This is a warning for those of you who use amazon.com. Amazon uses a debt collection service called TRS recovery services. At times when customers pay with direct checks, debit, or credit cards the payment does not go through. At this point in the transaction Amazon sends your personal information to the debt collection company for them to collect the payment. I kept getting phone calls from this debt collection agency giving me file numbers that were over 14 numbers long telling me that I owed several different amounts to Amazon for a mistake I made. I assumed that since I had already received all of the items that I had purchased the calls were a scam. They would call and asked for my bank account number, my credit card information, and my drivers license. I refused multiple times to pay and I contacted Amazon multiple times asking them if this was a legit company. They replied every time that there was no hold on my account and that every thing I had purchased had been paid for and there were no problems. However, I kept getting the collection calls 3 and 4 times a day. Finally one day I went on their website and typed in the terribly long file reference number and my zip code and the charge was 40 dollars. I paid it and I was so happy it was over and I would not have to deal with it anymore. I wrote down the verification code and put it on my fridge. The next morning I woke up to my regular 8am phone call from TRS. The phone operator informed me that I did not just have one debt I had SIX! I had him list out all of the reference numbers and then I went online and paid them all. However, one of the reference numbers the guy gave me didn't work. I called TRS and they told me that it was someone else's number and that I had paid all of my debts and I was good to go. Once again I wrote down all of the reference numbers and I was so happy it was over. In the end I ended up paying over 100 dollars which was twice the amount I should have paid for the items on Amazon. Everyday since this was all over I received at lease one unknown call from a caller that would hang up. This morning it happened again... but this time the called did not hang up. They started with their normal "Hello I am calling from TRS...." I told her I have paid everything and that I was told by one of their representatives that I had already paid everything. She told me that I still have one more that wasn't paid.  So... Like every other time I wrote down the ridiculously long reference number and I am now at this very moment about to go pay my VERY LAST debt to Amazon through TRS recovery services. I am very sad that this happened because I was a big fan of Amazon and I was a constant shopper. This has really put a bad taste in my mouth for Amazon. I think I am going to avoid them for a while.

On a happier note...

Yesterday morning before I ran my errands I got a call from a job that I applied for last week. They wanted to talk to me and ask a few more questions about me and make their final decision. I of course let them know that I was out of state but I would be more than happy to talk to them today (Friday) at any time. I got in my car later and they had called again to have that conversation. I missed the call and in California it is illegal to talk on the phone and drive so I wasn't about to call them back then. I knew that my flight wouldn't be home until late at night so I decided I would wake up and call them in the morning. I got home and went to bed without thinking about it again. As I mentioned before I decided to put my phone on silent so that nobody could wake me from my coma.  So this morning when I woke up I checked my phone and there was a missed call yet again from this company I interviewed with. I hate being late, so I considered these missed calls being late to talk to them three times! So I got up and the message asked for some references. I called and gave them the references and they said they would call me back. They called me back about an hour later to let me know I GOT THE JOB!!! I am now the (not so) proud owner of two part time jobs! Yippee!!!

The Tan continued...

This morning when I woke up I ran to the mirror to see what this tan developed into. It actually developed into absolutely nothing. It looked exactly like it did when I stepped out of the machine. The next step was to take a shower and wash all of the outer tan off. After getting out I ran to the mirror again to see what all of it would look like again and it was still the same. My awful tan lines were the same, my face does actually look extremely orange, and the tan is absolutely not even! I am extremely disappointed with how this turned out. I know I will look ridiculous at the wedding, but I have come to terms with it and I am definitely owning it Orange and all.

The Tan

My friend is getting married and she asked my to be a brides maid. I was semi excited. I say semi because the wedding was very short notice and I had to completely change my schedule to be able to attend all of the events involved in weddings. Don't get me wrong I love my friend and I am more than happy to be involved, however I have a vacation that I take every year and it was going to cut it from a week long to only 3 days. While I was on the very short vacation I decided that I would get a spray tan so that all of my weird farmers tans would be covered so that it didn't look like I was wearing a shirt with my strapless dress. I did a lot of research and I asked my friends for all kinds of advice. The last thing I wanted was to come out of this looking like an oompa loompa. They gave me all types of advice including, don't wear tight clothes, don't sweat, don't let anything rub the tan off, and things of that nature. The morning of the tan I got up early and did all of the things I was advised to do before being tanned and headed off to do a few errands. Eventually I got to the spa, paid, and got all of the EXTENSIVE directions. They let me know that today it was buy one get one free! I told her I lived three states away and I didn't want it, but she just said, "they never expire!" So I just said, "OK see you next year!" Before I got in the machine I knew that my feet had gotten dirty before I got to the spa. I went into the restroom hoping (stupidly) that they would have a shower. No luck. So I washed my very dirty feet in the sink. By the time I was done I had been in there for awhile so I know the lady thought I was sick or something. I came out of the bathroom and got in the machine. In all of the movies that I have seen about Someone getting a spray tan they get in and it sprays them and gets it all in their mouth and eyes and they end up spitting and sputtering and orange out of the machine. So I tried to do all of the things the girl told me to do but I lost my balance and fell over and the machine didn't give me enough time to get in the position it wanted me to be in and oh god it was complicated. I got out and blow dried myself off and my very distinctive tan lines were still visible. They told me many times that I had to wait a long time before showering for the tan to develop so I told myself it was no big deal and it would be covered. I got redressed in my new no-rub clothing and headed to my rental car. I had to drive three hours to the airport in Las Vegas so I had a long trip ahead of me. While I drove I constantly was thinking about the damn tan and whether is was rubbing off. While I waited for the guy to check in my rental car I was worried that the tan was wearing off. Finally after all of my flights and all my worries I got home. I looked in the mirror and I looked almost exactly how I did when I got out of the machine. I went to bed worrying if the tan was going to wear off. I knew I waned to sleep well so I decided to put my phone on silent so that no one would bother me while I slept.

Preface

Just so you know before you start reading this blog... This is not about a smart sister. I am by no means saying that I am smart. I am a normal person that just wants a place to share my possibly ridiculous life.
